Who is God for me, and who am I for God?
“Spiritual Direction is help given by one believer to another that enables the latter to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God, and to live out the consequences of the relationship. The focus is on experience, not ideas, and specifically on the religious dimension of experience, i.e., that dimension of any experience that evokes the presence of the mysterious Other whom we call God. Moreover, this experience is viewed not as an isolated event but as an expression of the ongoing personal relationship God has established with each one of us.”*

Frequently Asked Question on Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction is not therapy or counseling. There may be aspects of psychological processes that are brought into spiritual direction but only as a means of exploring the directee’s relationship with God in light of his or her relationships with significant others in the directee’s life.
A spiritual director is one who listens with a directee to God’s movements and call within the heart to deepen the relationship between God and the directee so that the directee may grow in the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love.
Anyone who has a desire to deepen his or her relationships with God and to live a life fully alive in union with God.
